My vista overpowers it's self

I am running Vista Ultimate on a desktop.
1. When I am changing file names often the mouse highlights the next file as well and renames that one or the file is duplicated in that folder or the file is duplicated or moved to another folder. Or even better, all the files are duplicated in the same folder with only one click, just like magik! Often this duplicity is hidden in subfolders, so you don't even know where they have gone. I have slowed my mouse right down and am using highlight/delete/enter instead of highlight/delete click next file, as I thought this may be
helping to cause confusion in vista's brain. It doesn't seem to have made much difference.
