I really don’t know what happened. My vista started to automatically update so I restarted it to apply the update. But after that, it lost its ability to run games smoothly. Now I’m restricted to 2-D games as anything 3-D is now too demanding for it to run. I de-fragmented it, I scanned it with freeware anti-virus software, I used the disk-cleaner tool, I removed any un-needed programs and its still very slow. I have no idea what the problem is, and if anyone does, I would be very grateful to know…

Check whether the system has installed SP1. If yes try to do a system restore. and you can also try this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/890830

I’m sorry, but Sp1 does nothing, the only system restore point is after the slowdown took place. Also, the malicious software removal tool found nothing...
