Is this a recent occurrence? If so, when did it start happening?
Also, do you remember installing any new software between then and the issue?
I would like you to boot to "Safe Mode" to see if your problem still occurs.
Press F8 immediately after the post screen (IBM/Lenovo logo) to bring up the advanced boot menu options.
Select "Safe Mode". Does your mouse freeze up when running in safe mode?
