Hey I have a problem with my laptop. I have a IBM ThinkPad and it turned off automatically on me and now won't turn back on. My battery was fully charged and i even had the AC adapter in and it still wouldn't turn on. Nothing at all is showing and I'm getting tired of waiting. Anyone know whats wrong?

I have a Toshiba satellite that had the same problem. A thread on this forum suggested removing the battery AND the power adapter. Then, press the power switch for 30 seconds; re-seat the battery and re-connect the power adapter. For some reason it worked for me, as well as others. What I want to know is WHY did it work? Triggerfinger offered the suggestion. Thanks TF!

i tried doing the 30 sec hold and plug everything in but it still didn't work my laptop is non-responsive have any idea whats wrong
