BAD_POOL_CALLER

Then displays the error code
0x000000c2 (0x00000007, 0x00000cd4, 0x04090206, 0xe2abfc80)

I have GeForce4 4200 Go Video card installed it is 32mb on it. Any help is much appreciated.

I downloaded and installed latest driver which is R88792 after i first encountered this problem but it didn't help. I also removed all new programs that i installed recently as much as i could that also didn't help.

Hello and welcome to TSF.

Bugchecks vary between 0xC2, 0x8E, 0x50 and 0x415, which is a new one for me. nv4_mini.sys - a video-related driver - has been flagged many times. Also, bugcheck 0x415 is clearly video-related:

First upgrade to Service Pack 2, then Service Pack 3. That could definitely be the problem.

Never a problem, ask anytime.

@adilnasir: You should also simply try reinstalling your graphics drivers if you still get BSODs after installing SP3: http://www.soft32.com/download_181235.html
Hi
I downloaded sp2 & sp3 both. SP2 Installed without a problem but it slowed down my machine to the extent that it takes ofrever to start or shut down (I didn't install anything new). Now when i want to install SP3, i run into another trouble. When i click on exectable file, it starts extracting and at the end it gives me following error message. I don't know really what it means and what i should do now...

Following is the Error message:
Service Pack3 setup can not update a checked (debug) system with free (retail) version of service pack 3, or vice versa
Is it a legitimate copy of Windows? Did the laptop come with XP preinstalled?

I'd like to see the specs and some errors you're having, but the only way to export them in XP is via a third-party program. Download Event Log Explorer from here: www.eventlogxp.com

Install it using the 30-day trial period then open it. Click File>Export Log... and export it to an HTML document. Be sure to check both Export event descriptors and Export event data. Save the file somewhere easily accessible Next click Start>Run... and type msinfo32, then click File>Save... and save it to the same place that the other was saved to. Zip them both up and attach them to your next post.
Yes, It is a legitimate copy and laptop came with XP pre installed. I reinstalled it from the CD that came along with laptop about a year ago.
I have also attached the log files as advised by you.

Do i need to bump my post..If so how..?
I apologize for my abrupt absence.

It looks alright except for this, which I see multiple times in the logs:
Code:

    <td>7:55:21 PM</td>

    <td>N/A</td>
    <td>ADIL</td>

Something's going on with Remote Access. Do you use it at all?

Thanks a lot for your reply. You need not appologies as you are doing me a favour by helping me and not the otherway around.

Bro. I never used remote access. I checked it now and it is disabled. Do you think i need to enable it? I am too afraid of someone taking over my PC.
Many many thanks for all your help and asistance. I wish i could also do something like what you are doing.

You don't have to enable Remote Access, I simply don't know enough about XP to understand why you're getting the error that I posted. Also, did you ever try reinstalling the graphics driver? We never got confirmation of that, so I'd just like to be sure.

Because the bugchecks vary so much, I'd like to test your hard drive's consistency. Click Start>Run...>cmd, then enter the command chkdsk /r /f. This command will check your hard drive for bad sectors and attempt to repair them if possible.

I appreciate your thanks and understanding.

I changed my graphics card since the original one that i had conked off. The original card had 128mb on it and the new one that i could get has 32mb on it both old and new are Gforce and i looked and installed correct drivers for the new card.
After i started getting this problem, i uninstalled graphics card and reinstalled it with correct drivers. So yes i did change graphics card and i updated my drivers after searching net for the model of of the new card(GeForce4 4200 Go).
Yes i did. It tool a while to finish and at the end computer started and thats all. Didn't get any reports thats why i didn't say anything. The problem still persists. However another problem has also got added that at the time of switching off i have to power it off by power button instead of normal shut down as it takes forever to do that task.
Taking forever to shut down still indicative of hard drive failure. Follow these instructions to test your hard drive: http://carrona.org/hddiag.html
Hello,

Heres some suggestions:

Although please do what DT Roberts suggested first please.

1. Did you seat the graphics card properly and tight?

2. Are you using the latest driver available?......go here:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html

Notes: It sounds like to me the service packs got corrupted on the installation of them, both sp2 and sp3....this could be due to wrong or old graphics driver as well.

Tip: I have sp2 on a cd and also sp3 on a cd, when doing updates and it states sp2 or sp3 I get offline and install from the cd I burned them onto.

Tip2: When updating from microsoft have protection on and also get offline when updates are installing you are less likely then to pick up anything.
