just recently when i double click to open a folder or file the { find folder or file} dialog box opens instead of just opening the folder.

I'd appreciate it if anyone knows how to change this setting.

On any folder hold down the right mouse button and press the left button once then release both and see if the problem goes away.

operating sysem is win 98. I am just trying to get back to when you double click a folder icon it opens the folder instead of having this find folder box open.

I tried what you said about hold right click then left click and it gives the same menu as if i just right click. I can still navigate using right click then open in the menu.
