my HP tablet's display just went blank!

Dear TSF members,

I have an HP pavilion tx2000 tablet PC with Windows 7 installed on it. Yesterday, I was at my friend's place while I was transferring some data from his pen drive to my tablet. I left the tablet on his bed for the transfer to continue and went to the terrace with him just to chill out. Meanwhile I was on the terrace, the file transfer was over and the tablet went off due to battery power drain.
After I returned home I powered my laptop and it started working again. But as I was using it, it strangely went off for a second and came back to consciousness in a second. But then, nothing was working. I had to go for a hard shut down and reboot. Then it was working properly.
Today, when I powered it on, it on, it worked well for half an hour or so and then, again the screen went blank. But this time, it went off permanently. I tried a hard shut down and a reboot but there was no purpose this time.
As I rebooted it, nothing seems to be working except the processor. I can hear the fan. But the rest is idle. The lights along the display are all working. But the system doesn't seem to boot. There is no windows startup sound even after a long time since I slid the start button.
Please help. I'm in a stuck. :(

Hi leaving it on a bed could have caused some overheating always use on a hard flat surface beeding cushions even your lap can block the airvents and fan you can try some of the troubleshooting steps here http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f108/black-screen-issues-and-troubleshooting-498132.html and see if it helps also the use of a can of compressed air to blow out any dust or debris may help
I just realized that my hard disk is not working as the hard disk in use indicator LED is not at all blinking. Is there something I can do about that?
Hi test it with seatools for dos SeaTools | Seagate if it can't find it or shows errors you would need to replace it,also check in the bios and see if it is recognised try F2 on boot do you get any message about the drive
