hi guys, i think i really needed your help her. i have a desktop and laptop but this past few weeks both keeps on shutting down and boots again. im suspecting the cpu could be overheating on my desktop and laptop. any of you guys suggest of what should i do with this both?? tanx.. tanx..

Go to futureshop or any computer shop. Get it checked. The problem might be that there is dust stuck in your laptop's heatsink. For the desktop, it might me thermal paste in the heatsink problem.

Post the make/model of the PC.

Have you cleaned the inside of the PC lately? Try this first with a can of compressed air.

If they are restarting then the try "disabling auto restarts" the system should then

produce a Blue Screen error containing info that may help solve your issue.

Does the laptop have the same problem if it's running from the battery?
If both units are having the problem on AC power it could be a faulty household power source.

my desktop runs on WinXP SP2, Asus P5SD2 VM motherbpard, INTEL P4, and my laptop is NEO Basic B2245 N. by the way thank you for all of yout suggestions and i think im gonna have to try it all and i'll be back for results. =)
