Hello i recently bought a new computer and i have this problem. I have played some games and i seem to have the same problem with Crysis Oblivion and STALKER Clear Sky.The crashes are totally random. The computer just freezes and i cant do anything with it. I have to restart it. Whenever this crash occurs my monitor displayes greenish or purple color. I bought a nice computer for gaming and i am really sad now that it doesn't work. My specs are:

4 gigabytes ram
Q6600 core
GTX-260
And i am using XP service pack 2. I will update to Vista soon but i dont think that will solve it. If anyone can help me somehow i would be most gratefull. And sorry for my english i am a foreigner.

I had this problem about 9 months ago with crashing while gaming also... And I fixed it by buying a new power supply unit for my computer. This may not work for you, but it did for me. Make sure your power supply unit can power all of that powerful stuff you are running in your computer (quad core CPU, large graphics card, etc.) I would typically recommend at least 500-600 watts for a setup like that. So if you don't mind me asking... how many watts does your power supply unit put out?

I thought of it too. The cooling or the power. Well my power supply is 450W. Do you think i should take it to my vendor? To tell him to change the power supply. Are you sure i need 500-600W ?

Thanks for responding. I didn't use my computer much because of school, so sorry i forgot about even posting here.

Definitely get a stronger PSU, and a good brand too, read reviews, make sure it is reliable.
A cheap 650Watt power supply could end up being worse than a good 450Watter.

Also, use a program like Everest or SensorsView to check your computers temperatures when under load. Run a game for a few minutes, then open up either of the above and take a screenshot of the temperatures. Post the results back here.
