Before you attempt the fix it program, [be careful of registry cleaners], would you list your complete specs of the hardware, and your security progams?

Wait a sec. There are plenty of reasons for a slow down. One being malware and infections, the other being ram [512 being standard in todays times], but a cleared cache could do wonders, also removing temp files, defraging, a disk check, and a disk clean. Which all could be done from windows.
Are you slowing down when you are on line? or just in general.

start>run>type msconfig and see if you are able to reconize and stop services from running and starting.
