Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I don't know if it has something to do with the mother board or what. Here is the long, drawn out details. :p

I just got and installed a new SSD into my computer. My intent was to do a clean install of windows 7. Well for the most part everything went ok and I had windows 7 up and running. My system was up and runng for a couple of days when I remember I forgot to back up my bookmarks and some videos off my other hard drive that had vista on it. So I pluged my old hard drive in and told it to boot from that hard drive. I backed up the stuff I needed and then told it to boot from my ssd again...this is where things start getting weird...everything was fine untill I did that.

This next part is happenning right when I start my computer and coninues when windows starts.

Fist opon start up my motherboard takes longer to give me it's "beep" noise and then my wacom tablet (that is used as one of my monitors) isn't recognized by my video card. (I have a sapphire HD 4850 x2 so I have four monitors). When I un plug the wacom and replug it in it will recognise it, but it won't opon restart. I then un hooked all the monitors, took my video card out, then plugged it back togeather. Opon start up my computers mother board beeped as normal and everything was fine...untill I restared again. Once again my motherboard delayed with it's beep and it wasn't recognizing my wacom anymore. This happens freaqentsly, but not all the time. RIght now it's working but I do not know for how long.

Again keep in mind this is happening when I start the computer, and continues when Windows is running. I don't know if for what ever reason when I played with the drives it cause a problem with my motherboard detecting things? or if my SSD is somehow causing problems? I'm still fairly new to this.

Any idea what the heck is going on and what I might try to fix it?

It seems strange for sure.

You could do a cold clear CMOS to see if things get better. Consult your mobo manual for procedure. It should show you where the clear CMOS pins/jumper are located and where to move the jumper and for how long.

Remember to unplug the PSU cord first, and preferably remove the BIOS battery during the procedure.

When done, remember to set the date and time in BIOS again, so the OS doesn't get confused when you boot to it.

See if this helps at all, and report back how it went.

Regards,

tweak

unplug power from the old vista drive / then clear cmos / then reboot following SSD-Tweaks info above; then see how things go

keep us posted with your progress

Well here's the thing. After reinstalling windows 7 and fixing the patition problems, thanks to sdd-tweak's help, everything seemed to be going fine. I had already formatted the drive with vista on it. After a while of "everything seeming fine" My computer started to act bogged down so I reset. And sure enough my computer started with a delayed beep and my wacom wouldn't come on anymore. I turnned my computer off and unplugged and replugged my monitors and it started fine again. Part of me is wondering if somethings wrong with my video card. But again...I didn't start having this problem untill I pulled what I did with my hard drives.

I had a previous indecent with a monitor going dead and I was wondering if a video card could kill a monitor.

I hope my wacom isn't dying cause these suckers are pricy. :p

I will try what SSDT suggested. I'm hoping that some of my issues are coincidental and it's something that just needs tweaking
