Okay I have windows Vista. I have 4 accounts on the computer. I am the only administrator on it. Last night I was on the computer and was just playing a game on the internet like I usually do. Well today I turn on the computer, log onto my account, and now my desktop is completely different. The picture I had on there is gone, all the desktop icons I had on there are gone. The sidebar is back. Lots of the programs are now gone. ITs like it had reset itself. Yet none of the other accounts are different. What could have caused this? How can I find out why this happened?

How do I request for it to be moved?

One other thing... everytime I turn on the computer, no matter which account goes on, I always get an error message saying "the system can not find the file specified"
What does that mean?

Your profile has become corrupted and it booted with a Default Profile. Many times if you shut down completely, let it set for several minutes and start up, when you log in it may load your old profile. If not, log into any of the other users, if there profiles are fine, then create a new Admin User for yourself

  1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel, and then select System.
  2. Click Advanced System Settings.
  3. Under "User Profiles", click Settings.
  4. Select the profile you want to copy.
  5. Click Copy to, and then enter the name of, or browse to, the profile you want to overwrite. This will usually be in C:\Users\username, where username is the name of the profile to which you are copying.
  6. Click Permitted to use, and then add all user accounts to which you want to give full profile control. Click OK.
log out of the profile your in and log in as the new profile.
