After recently playing Starcraft Broodwar, My Computer's icon has changed to a crappy low-res looking version of what it's supposed to be.

Like that. I tried deleting the Icon and putting it back on in Desktop Settings, and tried changing the Icon altogther and then back again, same result.. not sure how to get it back to normal?

Right click a blank space on the Desktop/Properties/Desktop/Customize Desktop items. Highlight My Computer/Change Icon. Choose Restore Default or choose the icon you would like it to be Or browse to any other icon you like.

No other icons have changed no.

And in the Customise Desktop place, restore default does nothing. My Computer in that window looks like it should, it just looks odd on the Desktop.

This happens when a game/program attempts to start with some compatibility options enabled.

It appears that the "Run in 256 colours" (right-click file>properties>compatibility) compatibility option was enabled for something, possibly the game, which is why this occurred?

Did you click the Change Icon button and choose another icon?
