I Have an HP Pavillion DV6000 and it's running Windows 7 Home Premium. I went to go boot it up today and the computer it self started ticking like a clock and stuck on it's boot screen the clicking stops and it shuts off only to restart itself unless I manually hold down the power button
Can Someone please explain what's happening and if I can fix it?

Edit: It won't go past the boot screen

You need to determine the origin of the clicking sound. First suspect would be the Hdd.
Try disabling Auto Restart to see if any error messages show.

Click on Start and then on Control Panel.
In the Control Panel double click to open System.
In the left panel under ‘Tasks’ click on Advanced system settings.
In the section labeled ‘Startup and Recovery’, click on the Settings button.
In the section labeled ‘System failure, remove the checkmark from ‘Automatically restart’.
Click Ok, OK to exit.

Hi SkyxSky,

I also think that the problem could be hard-drive related and that your computer hard-drive has gone bad. I recommend downloading a program called "UBCD" from a working computer. Burn the ISO file onto a CD and boot your computer to the UBCD program. Then, scan your hard-drive for any errors. It's definitely possible that your computer hard-drive has gone bad. Hope everything works out well for you.
