MUTE-HElP

HI I am running XP not sure that has anything to do with it but my mute keeps coming on and off all by it sel I have tried using sound cards and on board all parts are working but this keeps happening theres no check in the mute box and then it flickers on and off when i move my mouse?? the volume box pops up the box is checked then pops again and is unchecked???

Go to start -> control panel -> sound -> advanced.

See if that is checked, if it is uncheck it. Then hit apply/OK. If that doesn't work... it sounds like a virus or something is playing with your system... i am not sure of that but it is strange that your computer would do that.

well weve tried that i do believe its a virus but i have ran everything known to man and nothing is fixing this?
