The other day surfing the internet, my network drops connection.

My main computer is connected by cable to the router, and the other is wireless. Neither will connect, and I can't even browse my router settings. Now I can connect to my second PC directly to the cable modem and surf the internet, but I can't with my main PC, my network connection claims the cable is unplugged even though it's connected directly to the cable modem.

When I connect to the router with my second pc I get limited or no activity warning.

The only things I've tried is rebooting both cable modem and router, but no result. I've used the only disc that came with my main pc(a driver diagnostic disc) that takes 12 hours to complete, but came up with no error messages or problems.

I have NO idea of what happened, and no clue what to do to solve this and get my network back up and running. So any advice at all would be GREAT!

My wireless router: D-Link DI-624
Main PC: Systemax Warhawk: AMD (customized)
Second PC: Emachines T3104 with D-Link DWL-G520 Wireless adapter

Reset the router to factory defaults.

Power down the modem, router, and compuer.

Connect the router's WAN/Internet port to the modem using a straight CAT5 patch cable.

Connect the computer to the LAN/Network port on the router using a straight CAT5 patch cable.

Power up the modem, wait for a connection light.

Power up the router, wait for two minutes.

Boot the computer, see if you're connected.

If not, please do this at this time:

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

Yes, all the lights on my router seem to be on. The lights on my main pc where I plug the cable into isn't on anymore at all though.

I have had my main pc and router maybe 2 months. :sigh:

Well, if you don't have a light on the network port, try a new cable, and a different port on the router. At this point, I'm thinking the NIC in the main PC may be dying.
