Well, this error message is strange and bothersome.

I have a 256 megabyte multimedia card; the brand name is A-Data from Taiwan. I use it with a card reader. Now I can not write a file to the card or delete any files currently on the card. I pulled out that card and inserted another into the reader. Then I could copy my files to the new card just fine.

When trying to delete a file, I get this error message:

Cannot delete Japanese_2: The disk is write-protected. Remove the write-protection or use another disk.

I get that error message with every file I tried to delete on the card, and a similar version when trying to copy files to the card. It's a multimedia card, not a secure digital card. So it doesn't have the little tab on the left side for locking files. I never changed the protections on any of the files.

Is there a way to fix this or is my card toasted?

Thank you for your help. A happy Christmas season to you, Anthony
