Hi,

I am so frustrated with Microsoft crap. I have a zip folder with mp3 files. All in thai language font.

I have thai installed on my Windows Vista Home Premium. I can change from EN to TH and type in thai language font no problem.

So i unzip these files and it looks like crap. Almost like vietnamese font. Because it can't read it. I dumped it on my desktop with Windows XP and the same crap. I emailed one of the files to a friend and he said it shows thai language font. Emailed it back to me and it shows in thai font.

What the heck?

What zip program are you using? Are you using the Vista zip program? I tried zipping using the XP zipping program using japanese fonts (got them from google.jp) and windows wouldn't let me! (i'm on a fat32 partition btw, so that's one variable I can't test at the moment). I tried it with 7-zip, then with winrar, and it works perfectly.
I don't think Windows's zippers handle filenames with unicode characters.

I used windows vista to unzip. I also tried using winzip and the same thing.

What else can i do?

Grabbing this from wikipedia: "WinZip prior to 11.2 does not support Unicode characters in filenames.[5] [6] Attempting to add these files to an archive results in the error message "Warning: Could not open for reading: ..."
I suppose this isn't relevant if you tried it with WinZip 11.2 or later.

Correct. I downloaded the latest trial version. Does not show the thai font for file names. I suspect something with Windows Vista and Windows XP on my desktop as well.
