For the past week or so my outlook express 6 has got slower and slower to the point that it is taking 45 minutes or so to download 1 or 2 emails. I can't seem to work out if it coincided with the downloading of security updates or a recent reinstallation of Office XP. Anyhow, when I click send/receive the box that normally comes on screen is totally blank and then OE hangs. On checking Event Viewer I have application hangs for msimn.exe.
I have run a couple of anti viruses - and it found a few trojans and removed them but still OE is the same. I'm running IE7 and OE6 on XP. Can you help please - it's driving me mad and I really need to be able to get onto OE for work.

I have the same problem when I try to load Outlook Express 6. I get two error messages, msimn.exe mdmp and appcompat.txt.

Have not been successful in getting an answer anywhere on the Internet. If you finally get your issue resolved, would you let me know how it was done?

I have McAfee as my protection program. I contacted them and they ask me to bring start run and type in services.msc. I did and this brought up everything that was running on my computer. The tech ask me to stop every McAfee program then try and start Outlook Express. It worked!

I restarted the McAfee programs and it still worked. For some reason my protection program cause an error in Outlook Express.

Contact your protection program tech support and ask them to help. It worked for me.

I'm having the same problem, msmin.exe and it says hungapp app ver 6.0.2900.5512 I can't open links in OE6 I was recently wiped out everything from my pc dell 530 and reinstalled IE7 and OE6 still the problem exists.
Can someone pls help me with this headache?

SAME issue msmin.exe hungapp ver 6.0.2900.5512
I launch OE and it just hangs - I can get into my mail from another computer, but can't access the e-mails that are already downloaded on my main/work computer.
HELP!
