system restarts, the BIOS does not detect the devices on the secondary IDE controller.

What are the devices on IDE2 and in what order? (brand and model number)

Did you try swapping the physical order of the devices?

In BIOS /Integrated Peripherals/IDE Function Setup/ All items set to Enabled and Auto?
