I just replaced my mobo with this board. 1st one I received was faulty so I RMA'd that one and got a replacement. The replacement board has a little annoyance that I have not found any answer to.

This annoyance is that when I reboot Windows and the system restarts, the BIOS does not detect the devices on the secondary IDE controller. However, if I power the computer off completely and then power back on, the devices are detected with no problems. This does not only happen when rebooting Windows, but even if I hit the reset button.

Any idea what is causing this? The bios is V11.60 040105. I really don't want to have to send this board back too. Of course, if I do, I will just get my money back this time instead of a replacement.

Guess I should have mentioned that I have swapped cables and have verified all jumpers. The silly things we realize we should have mentioned :4-toilet:

Alright, I have tried 2 different power supplies. 1 being an Extreme Power 650W power supply and the other is an Antec 400W power supply. Based on the website above, all I need is 281W. Now, I know that the Extreme Power one is not the highest quality, but Antec's are pretty good.

Problem still there!

Swapped the power supply out with an Antec True550 550W. The problem continues. Dai, you have any other suggestions? Or, if anyone else has an idea, I'm willing to listen.

I have also used different plugs on the devices too.

What are the devices on IDE2 and in what order? (brand and model number)

Did you try swapping the physical order of the devices?

In BIOS /Integrated Peripherals/IDE Function Setup/ All items set to Enabled and Auto?
