Window 10, MS Word 2010; when word is activated a small notice is placed on the top of the window. The notice is a small white box approximately 1” X ¼”, it has a blue W then a – then a □ then an X. When the W or the – is clicked the notice vanishes, when the box is clicked the Word document is displayed. When the document is displayed and the Restore down command (top right of the document screen) is clicked the document disappears. How do I fix this and return to normal?

For the second, Restore Down is set by the user for each document which by default opens in "normal" size. If it's happening in all .docs, please reply as such.

Yes it happens on all word documents.

I can't find what you're talking about from your Word download because it opens in Word. Can you try just following the directions in Post #2 which might show the white box,

O.K., Corday I hope I have this correct, this time. I used the snipping tool in Win10, named the object, "white box.jpeg". Thanks for your help, eddie460
