Hey there, I've got a toshiba gigabeat S (60gb) i NEVER use..

Is there any way i can format it to just a blank hard drive.., Right now for it to be recognized you need a certain version of windows media player and more software..Can i strip it and use it as a storage device making it recognizable by any pc?

Try it in a computer without "the proper software or updated windows media player" installed.
If you can see the drive in Disk management you can use it as an external hard drive.
Formatting will, of course, remove the "operating system" on the drive >>> it won't work as a portable media player anymore.
