hello.
I recently opened up my gateway4025 laptop to diagnose a powerless dvd drive. i did not take appart both parts of the laptop. i just kind of spread them appart. im not used to working with laptops and i had a hard time opening it. i was very careful. well after a quick look i decided to put it back together. i powered it up, but without the battery because i forgot to put it in. it powered up fine. but in windows i noticed that the mouse pad did not work anymore. i turned it off and put the battery in. powered it up again and still the mouse pad did not work. i also noticed that the lighs on the front that indicate power cord connection and such are not lit up. and also the light on the bottom of the screen that indicates power and charge. they also are not lit up.
can anyone give me an idea on what could have happened? if anyone has had this problem before. please i would appreciate any help.
okay heres an update to this problem.
the lights beneath the screen do light up. what it was is that the battery was fully charged i guess and the charge light would not come on. and the power light did come on before.
and after restarting it again i let it load all the way through. since its slow on startup. and i heard a beep. just one. so..for now im using a usb mouse and it works fine. but still no mousepad and lights just beneath the mousepad that indicate wireless connection and power cord connection and such....any help? thanks!!!!
