Hey, I have a HP Pavilion 533w with Windows XP Pro SP2 and with
Intel Celeron 2.00 @ 1.99 GHz and 759mb of RAM.

Problem is, every time i try and open a program (whether its firefox or something that takes a little bit longer than just opening notepad to load) the mouse will skip instead of moving smothly while the item im trying to load shows up on the taskbar.

To summarize, I open a program and as the block in the taskbar is showing the program my mouse skips while i move it instead of moving smoothly until the program appears on the taskbar.

Any ideas? I have Antivir and have ran virus scans and have come clean.

Lower Hardware acceleration
************************

1. Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.
3. Click the Troubleshoot tab.
4. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider until it is one notch to the right of None. This setting disables all but the basic accelerations.
5. Click OK two times.

Hey, thanks for posting.. i thought no one was going to at least give it a try.
I changed the settings and unfortunately it did not work. When trying to load Winamp or even Firefox.. like i described earlier.. as the box is appearing on the taskbar.. the mouse skips when i try to move it.. rather than moving smoothly like it should.

I seriously dont have a clue on what the problem could be, I'd expect maybe this type of problem from my integrated graphics card that came with this PC.. but since i added (not a very new one but better than the integrated graphics) card which is a
Radeon 9200 PRO Family (Microsoft Corporation) @ 1280x1024x32bpp 60Hz, Shader Version 1.1 .. Im out of ideas.

If you suspect it could be something.. go ahead and give it a shot by replying. Better than not having a reply at all.
Again thanks alot!

Not at all.. seems strange but only problem is the mouse. And I wish i didnt find it annoying as its not a HUGE problem.. but it annoys the crap out of me when im trying to load a program and do something else while its loading.
