I am trying to put together a pc so far I have these items below:
#1. Powercolor ati radion X1900xtx video card.
#2. Corsair HX Series CMPSU-620HX 620W Power Supply.
#3. Thermaltake Armor jr VC3000SWA Silver Case.
That is it so far but i intend to get the following below.
#1. Intel core 2 6700
#2. 2 g. Corsair Memory don't know what speed yet till motherboard.
#3. 2 Western digital raptor hard drives 150g
Now comes the question.
What Motherboard???
I have read several reviews on motherboards and it all seems to be mixed with bad good etc..
I would like to find one that supports INtel dual core & ati crossfire. also high memory speeds.
This is what I am looking at here..DFI LANPARTY UT ICFX3200 T2R/G LGA775 Socket 775 1066MHz DDR2 - 1000
Detailed info here... http://us.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_pro....jsp?PRODUCT_ID=5155&CATEGORY_TYPE=MB&SITE=US

Anyone in the same boat searching for a motherboard? or maybe have info on what would be good for this setup?
Thanks

These are nice:

I like the build so far. Just a note, the E6600 is only about 200 MHz slower than the E6700, but it is a lot cheaper, I would save the money and go with that. Just my opinion there.

IMO you shouldn't spend extra money on faster RAM like DDR2 800 or DDR2 667 RAM, just get DDR2 533. DDR2 800 won't actually be any faster because of the higher latencies, and it is more expensive. Plus, having a dual channel pair of DDR2 533 RAM will make the CPU:DRAM ratio 1:1.

Thanks a friend of mine mentioned Asus also.
Thanks for the tip on the memory> I am a novice here and don't quite know the in's and outs of computers yet. I have also thought about the E6600 that was my first choice then I thought >Well I am getting the chip first or second week of Jan so maybe prices will drop a bit on the 6700?
Thanks for all the info.

Update

Here is what I ended up with below........

DFI LANPARTY UT ICFX32OO-T2R/G
CORSAIR 620W PSU
POWERCOLOR X1900XTX
2 RAPTOR X 150GB HARD DRIVES.
THERMALTAKE ARMOR Jr. CASE
INTEL 6700 CPU

Now I am working on trying to get this memory below....

OCZ DDR2 PC2-9000 (2X 1024) Titanium Alpha VX2 DFI Special dual channel EOL ram.....

The problem is I can't find it for sell anywhere so I called OCZ to ask why it is not in any stores, they said its a special memory and that they might be able to round some up for me. Didn't ask what the cost would be but I just hope this ram matches what i have so far for the gamming rig.

So rounding it up...I am getting closer to having a rig here still looking for any advice on what else I could through in, I do want a CPU cooler looking at a Zaleman. I know I need a DVD/CD not sure what to get there. And i guess I will have to get a opperating system thinking Vista.
One thing for sure it takes time to gather parts to build unless your rich..finding out parts are expensive but i feel i am at least half way there.

You really only need DDR2 800 RAM and above if you are planning on overclocking, if you aren't, any RAM faster than 533 MHz will not be worthwhile. Also, whatever RAM you decide on, you will want to check with the manufacturer's website to see if it is tested as compatible.

BTW, since you have an X1900XTX and two raptor drives in there, I would consider getting a 700 w PSU. Tiger has a nice deal on an OCZ 700 w if you buy it before the end of the month.

Well you are right again the memory was expensive (more than i expected) bye now I have to be half way done buying parts for this computer rig, pretty soon I will be eating hot-dogs and rice for dinner every night.

I was unable to get the fast memory even after I called OCZ sales, It is now labled EOL --> End Of Life they did make it but it went fast and they stoped making it so I settled for the slower memory below..

I did take your advise and got the slower Ram so the rig i am putting together should be over 60% of what I need.

Thanks for the Information on the PSU I think i will keep what I have until I change to crossfire or get ATI's new cards comming this fall. I was looking at the OCZ 850w also for an alternative PSU.
