Motherboard/Ram assistance required! ;P

Greetings everyone!
As you may or may not already put together, I'm new to these forums. I'm currently having problems identifying my motherboard because "I would like" to possibly upgrade my RAM and CPU in the future.

I would like to start this out by saying I just got Age of Conan which is an awesome game however... The minimum requirements are slightly higher than my computers specs. I've so far been able to play the game on the lowest settings but its a mind numbingly poor fps, (5-10fps at best) but other than that... It does not look to bad. Here are game's minimum requirements and my specs.

Games Minimum Requirements:
- Windows XP or Vista
- 1gb of RAM <it seems like you need atleast 2gb to make it worth while
- NVIDIA GeForce 6600 Video Card with 128mb Video Memory
- Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz or equivelent
and of course a dvd rom drive and 32gb of hard disc space...

My Computers Specs:
- Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254)
- (Physical Memory: 1024 MB DDR-SDRAM) I have 2 512 chips one in each slot.
- ATI Radeon 9600/9550/X1050 Series with 256mb video memory
- Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
- BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
- Page File: 291MB used, 2636MB available
- System Manufacturer: AWARD_
- System Model: AWRDACPI

Anyhow I'm fairly computer savvy... I know what I'm doing for the most part but my problem is, I don't know where to find what kind of motherboard I have and what the highest possible upgrade for it is...

I got this computer back in 2003, I know its time for a new computer. But I'm broke as hell, and I just wanna try to buy a stick or two of 1gb ram for it if its even possible... And beyond that I would like to upgrade the CPU to 3.0Ghz, If its possible then that would be nice... Until I can get a job and afford to just build my own custom computer.

Any help you can give would be awesome, and I realize the answer I'm looking for is probably right there in front of my eyes... But thats ok, I'd like to see what you all have to say!

Thanks for your time and help! :)

Welcome to TSF.

To identify the motherboard:

Download and run Everest.
That program will produce a list of what's inside your computer.
In Everest press the "Report" menu - then "Quick report - All pages > Plain text.
Save the report. Please post back, with that report as an attachment.

Well there ya go :) I truly appreciate your help! I need to upgrade my ram so bad... the game looks great it just runs poorly... And I was talking to someone who know a lot more than me about computer hardware and he said my CPU does not need to be upgraded as much as I need 2gb of ram, if i had 2gb of ram the game would not lag nearly as bad...
Its minimum requirements are 1gb but everyone says you really need 2gb's to make it work as intended...

I downloaded, installed that software and did exactly as you said :) and even through in a dxdiag.txt file that I got earlier to see if that told me anything...

thank you again the faster I get this RAM the happier and easier playing AoC will be :) I'm tired of getting 5 mobs on and trying to run away at 5 or less frames per second... :'(

This one looks like it! elitegroup is it? well if you could confirm this... And please advice what kind of RAM I should looking for I'd truly appreciate it! :)
God I feel like an idiot....

Is that the kind of memory i need? I just spent forever looking through it... only 40$ for 1gb stick of ram...

it says it will recognize 3.5gb of ram... meaning I should be OK for puting two 1gb ram chips in :) should being the key word... they don not make anything bigger than 1gb ram chips however...

Any more advice or comments would be appreciated!

Same RAM different store.
Yeah definitely :) Would you have any idea on my CPU? is it possible to find a pentium 4 processor that is higher than 2.4 if I'm not mistaken can my motherboard not support up to 3.0 or 5.0Ghz?
Depends on the revision of the motherboard.
If it's v. 3.02 - P4 2.8 GHz
If it's v. 5.0A - P4 3.06 GHz
