Hey folks,
I've been having some issues with putting together a new computer I'm building.
I've got a Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 motherboard, which seems to be having some issues recognizing my eVGA GeForce 7600GT. This is the second board I've gotten, same model. The first one had the same problems, I was told by customer support at Gigabyte that it was a defective PCI-E slot, so I RMA'd it for a replacement. The graphics card works perfectly in other systems.
This motherboard has an auto-detect which disables the onboard video if there is a VGA card present. I don't understand what is wrong, I've bench tested both of these boards with two different PCI-E cards, and I get the same results, nothing. The onboard video works fine, it just doesn't acknowledge that the PCI-E slot exists.
Has anyone had any experience like this? I could use some insight. I really don't feel like sending out the FIFTH RMA for this one system I'm building, :sigh:
Thanks,
Dan
