Upgraded the process from a Pentium 4 2 gig to a 2.54gig. Windows see the new process but the BIOS has it set to run at 1.89 gigs. In short the motherboard (Intel model D84BGL) doesn't upgrade to the new processor speed. How is this accomplished? A new BIOS upgrade? Where do I obtain this upgrade? Is a upgrade possible with this old system?

Is the new CPU supported by the motherboard, did you check the CPU support list?

D84BGL is not a good number is it a D845BGL?
The 845 board only supports 400 FSB CPU's is the new CPU a 400 FSB?
