Hello! I'm Having frustrating problems with my computer, and I am sure It's mobo related...
At random times (on boot, playing music, etc) It seems that my primary hard drive turns off! I can hear the clicking sound, and i can also hear it stop spinning. This obviously causes the system to crash, and is definately not good for my HDD. Sometimes i go days without problems...then some days... :upset:
Could the problem be in my PCI bus? I have 2 HDD's, one is 20GB WD200 used for my boot and swap, the other is a 320GB WD3200, which is my main. I have both on a PCI raid card.

Any ideas will be much appreciated!

"Try going to the control panel>>power options>> "
I'm Running Slackware 12 (Linux)...I don't have a Control Panel :p
No, I don't have anything set to turn off my hard discs after a certain time...also, they tend to go off randomly, sometimes within a minute of boot!
