motherboard doesnt fit case

i got the asus a7v8x motherboard with the amd 2400+.i had my case for about 1-2 years and i thought i could use it. it was an atx.well when i got the motherboard i screwed it in and everything.the motherboard was about a half a centimeter away from the end of the case.i cant bolt my videocard into the case because its to far away from the case.i was wondering if it was just the case was an old version or if i need an different atx.
