I am putting together a new system with an AMD XP 2200 and an MSI KT3 Ultra 2 motherboard, and i have the processor in, ram in, video card in, and hard drive connected, and it turns on, runs for a few seconds, makes a single BEEB, out the speaker, and then turns off. I knwo that the beebs mean something, but i can't remember what. Anybody on here know?

This is a question I know speedo has some inside info on. After the beep do you have the chance to get into the setup?

After the post check the computer beeps to let you know that it has successfully completed the post test. After that you should be able to enter the setup and configure your system. Hope that might help alittle.

I kinda hate to ask this but here goes..................:winking:

Do you have a heatsink and fan on the CPU? If so make sure the fan is hooked up to the proper header.

Also take out the Ram and reseat it carefully and firmly.

Howdy, I am having the same problem with the same board. Dunno what it is, but I think that the boards just might bad. Try clearing your CMOS and then turning it back on. You should get a screen asking what you want to do. Go into the BIOS setup and make a minor change, doesnt matter what, then save and exit. It most likely will go blank again. Same trouble I am having. If you find out the problem, let me know. Thanks.
