Hey all, im building my new system with following specs:
P9X79 Deluxe motherboard,
i7 3930K,
H60 Cpu cooler
4x4gb Vengeance
HX850W
HD6970 video card

My issue is i installed the cooler onto the motherboard, the cooler has one 4pin connection for the fan and one 3pin connection for the cpu cooler unit.
I connect 4pin to CPU_FAN (Top right)
I connect 3pin to 3pin connection (directly next to it)
I boot and get DRAM_LED lighting up = memory not installed right, i remove 3pin connection and it boots, cpu overheats.
I connect the 3pin to standard 4pin and i think it works, it boots and cpu is at 70C in bios.......

Should i connect the 3pin to CPU_FAN or CPU_OPT < What is the opt connection btw? i connected the 4 pin for the fan to a different fan connection, and put 3pin on the CPU_FAN

Please advise :)

Sounds like the heatsink/fan are not properly secured to the Mobo or the thermal paste was not properly applied.
I am not a fan of liquid cooling primarily because it is basically a waste of money. Air cooling is just as efficient for the normal user and the OEM heatsink/fan are more than capable if no OC'ing is involved.
