I have an 80GB harddrive. But it's reading 30GB when I reinstall Windows OS. I'm handing over the comp to my sister in law but I wanna keep my hd that was previously installed on the comp, and so I installed another hd. With my old hd it was also reading 30GB when it was an 80GB hd. But my cousin did something in the BIOS to make it read 80GB. I just don't know what he did. Can someone help me out.

Okay I think my cousin changed the values on the cylenders, heads, sectors. I'm not sure which one though. And I have no idea how to calculate it.

Hi,

Try a BIOS reset using hot key dequence or similar, motherboard jumper or simply remove the BIOS battery for 30 minutes.

Take anti static precautions whilst doing anything inside your computer.
