I recently purchased a large LG monitor. It has speakers on the bottom. I am using the HDMI connection with an Nvidia RTX 2080. When I updated the video drivers, I had it install the Nvidia HD audio driver. To date, I have not been able to get the speakers to work. What am I missing?

My OS is Windows 10 v2004, build 19041.985. The Nvidia drivers are v466.11.

Click the Volume Icon in the Taskbar by the clock. Click the UP arrow and select your Monitor for Audio. It will direct all sound to the monitor speakers and not use your computer speakers.

It is strange that this monitor would have audio settings, but no speakers. I laid the monitor on its back and looked through the openings in the bottom. I apologize for wasting your time...

No, worries. By default, all monitors that connect via HDMI are listed as an Audio playback device, even though many of them don't have speakers and can't play audio.
