Hello I have a problem with my pc. I was playing a game with it and I shut it down for a while and when I went to turn it back on the monitor will not come on. I have checked the cables and the video card and all is fine, I did not do anything to the pc from the time I shut it down till when I tried to turn it back on. My bios code keeps changing from 23 to 45 to CO but thats all it does. I just need to know what I can or need to do to fix this problem. My system is an Alienware Aurora 7500, Foxconn Nforce 590 sli MB, AMD x2 6400, 4GB Corsair DDR2 PC2-6400, 2x seagate 250GB HD, Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX 768mb

Thanks in advance

This ONLY happens when you are playing a game?

Is the GPU overheating? Sounds like it is overheating, and the PC is killing itself to protect it from heat, allowing it to boot itself back up, but the GPU still hasn't cooled down enough and it still off.

Brand & Model of the PSU?
Was the 8800 GTX part of the original configuration?
Try another monitor on your PC or try another monitor on your PC.
I don't find those Bios codes on the Dell Bios Code list?

Tyree: The psu is a 1kW Norton power Ltd brand oem atx it is what came in the pc. Yes the 8800 was part of the original setup although it started with 2 in sli but the other one died months ago and I removed it. The video card was not acting up while I was playing so I dont know if this card was dying too or not. I will try another moniter and report back.

wkw427: This is the first and only time it has done it. It had been left for several hours before I tried to turn it back on.

Tyree: Tried the monitor on another pc and it worked fine also tried that pcs monitor my mine and it did not work. I had to find the Bios codes on the Foxconn website I'm just not computer savvy enough to know if they are bad or if they are normal and are just getting stuck for some reason. It is not beeping when it turns on it is just making a light clicking sound.

Also my CPU is liquid cooled so it should not be getting too hot. (has a sealed system, called Alienware when I first got pc to confirm)

From your description, overheating is most likely not a concern .
Is there any explanation about what the Bios codes mean on the Mobo's site?
You previously had two GPU's and one failed?
I've never heard of that PSU brand and can't find anything relating to it but it sounds like some rebranded low quality OEM unit. It's very possibly the cause of the other GPU failure and may be related to the problems you are now experiencing.
If you have Onboard Graphics available, try removing the GPU and using it.
If no joy, remove all RAM, power on. listen for any beep codes from the Mobo speaker. No RAM and no beeps indicates Mobo problem.
Any PC that old, and especially a lower quality PSU, is a good candidate for problems/component failure.

Tyree: the CO means: Base CPU test Read/Write CPU registers
the 23 means: Program chipset Early Programming of chipset registers
the 45 means: Reinit serial port Reinitialize Preboot agent serial port

yes the other video card was artifacting very badly I had to check to see which card it was and when I removed to bad card it fixed the issues I was having. I do not have onboard video nor do I have another video card I could test with
