I have just build a new system and put it all togetther turn it on the monitor dosent fire up and the computer beebs like beep.................beep.................beep iam not sure what the problem is the GFX card works as i ahve tested it the ram works and the HDD works as these have all been tested what could be the problem here?

Welcome to the forum richman,

If you have tested the memory, video card, and HD then the problem might be the motherboard or processor. Make sure that the processor is fully seated as the memory and video card. Also test to see if the motherboard works.

If you have spare parts (known good parts) like CPU, memory, video card then I would test it with those.

Did you buy a motherboard/CPU combo or did you buy the motherboard, processor separete?

I would say start buy swapping the processor out with another one to see if that resolves your problem.

how many beeps do you get ? or does it beep constantly ?

It constently beeps byt has intervals inbetween each beep.
My hardware in the machine is as follows
AMD 2000XP+
Gigabyte KT400
256MB DDR Ram40GB Maxtor Hard Drive
Ge-Force 4 GFX Card
10/100 Network Card

Check your ram and see if it's seated all the way in. Same with the video card.

If you connected the front of the case USB cable to the motherboard try disconnecting it.
