Hey.
recently ive had a problem where the monitor gos off as if its in standby mode (you know where the little green light turns to orange) and i canhear the comuter still working like normal but the screen just goes off and the only way to fix it is to restart. sometimes it shows JUST the bios picture then blanks out and sometimes it boots up fine.
but i dont know what is causing it. its been working fine for a while now (it started doing it about a mounth ago then just stoped) the comp is a p4 single core at 3ghz a gig of ram and a x1650 pro with thew 512mb of mem dedicated. oh and its agp not pci e.


anny idear what this could be?

Try another monitor.

seems like you have exactly the same problem as me, though i dont get BIOS appearing. i was thinking video card but got told it could be 3 other possibilities

memory fault
power supply issue
broken motherboard

let me know your fix when you get around to it.

try another psu putting out a min of 18amps on the 12v+ line
