Recenlty, i bought a wireless adapter which i wanted to place it into the motherboard, so simply shut down the PC and tried opening the side cover the case but it had some shock waves in it (electricity), so i unpluged the power cable and still was the same, so i just did wear gloves and fixed the adapter, and closed the case, and it still sometimes gives some voltages when you try to touch it, special if ur not expecting it.. My friend told me that he had the same problem, and it was due to the monitor power cable, and he says that he fixed it by cutting the original plug of the monitor power cable and fixing another one, but i didnt give it any attention since i dont touch my pc that often, but recently i touched my monitor screen while cleaning it and noticed that it also have some voltages in, and you feel like there is some vibration of some sort, then thought that my friend might been right, but before replacing the plug, i wanted to ask here if anyone had similier issues and how it was fixed...

Thanks in advance

First of all is it a single plug that splits of into 2 power leads-1 for your pc and 1 for your monitor.if you still have a problem before you do anything to the inside so your pc disconnect all cables from the back of your pc and leave it for a few hours. Also remember before doing anything to the inside of your computer place your hand on a unpainted radiator or the back of you case to discharge all static from you.Let me know how it goes on.

Nothing on the computer should be shocking you. Other than some basic static electricity from a crt screen, any computer that gives you a shock when you touch it should be unplugged, and taken in for service. Cutting the 3 prong plug off of the cable and replacing it may not solve your issue and unless you know enogh about electronics to restore the ground function of the plug in most cases it is cheaper to replace a $5-$8 plug/cable than to attempt to repair it. Even after unpugging the computer, the capacitors in the psu, can hold a charge for some time and give you a really bad burn or shock, remember it only takes a half of an amp (.5A) to stop your heart and kill you, please take your computer to a reputable repair shop and advise them of the situation, and let them handle it.
