i recently bought this card http://www.ebuyer.com/product/175914/show_product_overview but it uses a different connection than my moniter so i was hoping someone could tell me what i need to use to connect it to my screen also this is my moniter http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143280/show_product_reviews if that helps

the monitor can connect by vga or dvi

the card is dvi so you just need the dvi cable to connect it

iam useing a dvi cable but it keeps saying check cable connection maybe i have done something wrong then =/

i just checked everything on my pc and the only thing i found wrong is that my cable is the same on both ends but the gfx card is diff where the - bit is it has 4 little holes but my cable doesnt is that what could be wrong ?

If he's using a dvi single or dual like cable it should still work on a 4870's dvi-i output then.

Are you sure the card is actually compatible with your machine and is booting properly? Did you try another monitor on it?

iam sure it is compatible with my machine i got help with what card to get off these forums awhile ago but only got around to buying it recently.
i just looked at that link and my card looks like the DVI-I Dual Link

yes it is probably cheaper option than a new dvi cable
