Hey, one of my friend's modems isn't working correctly. It recognizes it but it won't connect to the internet. I noticed that her Communications port is set to 1 and the modem is on 3, so if anyone could help me fix this I would truly appreciate it.
It's a PCI System Soft modem on an XP system with service pack 2 I'm pretty sure. The drivers are installed and the computer picks it up as what it is, it's just set to COM 3 and I don't know how to change that. I've tried through port settings in device manager but it says I don't have registry write privileges which it weird because she is the only user of the computer and her account is set to administrator.:4-dontkno
sure thing.... take a deep breath, rethink your problem & rewrite your question. :4-dontkno
