Help the twas PLEASE!

About the first of June there was a Thread concerning no comunication between the CPU and Monitor after installing a new mobo and apg video card.

It was answered by either Speedo or Jamman (I think) in great detail and included booting with the mobo and agp out of the box.

I have gone back 75 days and can't seem to find this posting.

Any help would be muchly appreiated.

Ask and you shall receive......:D

The old out of the case routine..

Disconnect everything off of the motherboard except the CPU, Heatsink and Fan.
The fan should be plugged into the connector to the right of the CPU.

Take the motherboard out of the case and lay it on a phone book or something non conductive.

Hook up the following items only.

Hook up the wire that comes from the power button on the front of the case to the correct header, See manual.

Hook up the the power supply to the motherboard.

Insert one stick of ram.

Insert the video card all the way.

Hook up the monitor.

Hook up power to computer.

Turn on the monitor.

Turn on computer.

You should have video on the monitor.

This sounds like a lot of work but it narrows down the devices to a few.

OS = Speedo,

I followed your instructions to the "T".

Result: The following fans come on:
processor
power supply
and the fan on the video card (agp)

But I still get nothing on the monitor accept the following message
"This monitor is functioning properly - please the video card and video cable."

OS = Win98 SE
MoBo = Tyan Trinity KT-A # S2390B
Chipset = VIA KT - 133A
Bois = MX 390B V110
AGP Card = VideoExcel (Nvidia TNT2 - 128 bit 32 MB SDram)

My brother bought this MoBo & Video Card because we were having the same problem with his last MoBo & Video Card.

Speak good things to O'Great Wizard.

I would try another video card if you have one handy.

Also while your at it put your fingers down the bottom of the heatsink and see if it gets warm to the touch.

Reseat the ram, Try running it with one stick if you have two in there.

Try reseating the CPU.

Just do one at a time and see if you can hit it......:D
