I went to use "Add and remove programmes" but it is missing from control panel.

I am running Windows XP Home.

I have used it within the last few months.

Thanks in advance for any constructive ideas.

Hello thefrogg

Try a system restore.

If that does not help
Do a search on your hard disk for appwiz.cpl
If it is there its should be in the System32 folder.

If its not there it may be corrupted, go to START >RUN and type SFC /SCANNOW and hit enter.

Have your XP CD ready as it will ask for it.

Many thanks Dunedin

I did a search and found it in windows service pack. I have pasted into system32 and all is now fine.

As a matter of interest I could not run SFC/SCANNOW or SFC /SCANNOW?

Yes I got a error message yesterday. Just tried it again now in order to copy the error message and believe it or not it is now running!!

I tried serveral times yesterday as I was not sure if it was sfc/scannow or sfc /scannow.
