My friend, told me that I have to do some thing on mIRC. Because
all your infomation, like your ISP, INTERNET ACOUNT, stuff like that. Will be open, He said this only happeneds with microsoft
operating systems. He said I have to do/or change a setting
when I go on...... can any one help me, or is there a better program like mIRC that people can't hack into your computer

Install Linux. Ok, just kidding. What exactly are you trying to do? I don't know if I can be much help, I still get to send DCC files. But I can always try. Are you just trying to hide your information?

What about setting up a firewall while you use mIRC? Just block all the ports but the ones you need. I'ved used mIRC for a long time. I have never had anyone hack into my computer yet. (knocks on wood). I guess it would depend on where you go though.

The only firewall program, I have is the one that came with my
McAfee antivirus program. How do I block stuff, you know what I mean, what you said.....

My understanding is that the "real" hackers hang out virtually in mIRC. That's why you have to do the "extraordinary" configuration measures in your mIRC client to hide info from them. If you don't use it, I wouldn't worry about it.
