microsoft mouse scroll wheel wont work

ive had this wireless mouse for about 1.5-2 years now. has worked like a champ. now all of a sudden, the scroll wheel wont drag.
i use SolidWorks alot, and i need to be able to freely rotate my models. this is muchhh harder when the scroll wheel wont work.
time for a new mouse?? whats wrong?...
was planning on getting a logitech MX anyway...
