What are the updates for? Are they for a certain program such as M$ office??

:upset: as anyone had problems with downloading from microsoft??
i cannot install any down loads from any MS site. I have been in touch with MS technical support and attempted all their fixes without it being resolved. After trying all the fixes that came the support just dried up. I think that they took bat and ball home. I did ask if it was a software problem got no reply. I had 2 error codes 80246008 files downloaded but not installed and 2147024882 unable to run BITS This is a new built PC with a new MS XP pro +sp2 and licensed. If any one has had same problem and resolved it be grateful for any information. ISPUD
