Microsoft Bus Driver..?

4048 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  twajetmech
Hello, I previously purchased a P5GD1-VM Asus motherboard and I installed windows on it once and it worked just fine. Then after I reinstalled windows because it was running slow, my sound card does not work, and it does not show what sound card I have in the device manager. When I install the Realtek HD audio it comes up with an error "Microsoft Bus Driver Must Be Installed Prior to installing realtek audio driver."
So I looked around online and tried to install the bus driver before installing the audio driver. But still it gives the same error message. I dont know what to do, any help would be appriciated, thank you.

Chances are you need to fully format the drive before installing XP again. You will need to use maxblaster or whatever program came with your hard drive to boot from and then do a full format and partition, otherwise the MBR is still intact and windows may still see an older version was once installed and give you headaches. be sure to install the latest IAAR right after you install XP, otherwise you will have to follow Clintfan's guide on installing it after the fact (which is a real pain)
