I have an ASUS A7V8X motherboard VIA KT400.
I upgraded the RAM from 256K to 512K (same brand) PC2100.
Everything is OK but when I do a cold boot the POST memory test
keeps running till I hit ESC.
I flashed the last BIOS and is no option within to skip this endless test.
Does anybody have an ideea ?

You can disable that test in your bios. Take your time and try to find it in your bios. And refer to your motherboard manuals bios section.

I wouldn't recommend disabling it. All you will be doing is sweeping a problem under the rug, and that's if your computer even boots.
