Memory problems

I'm having a problem with my ASUS A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 board and my ram..

Whenever I boot with 2x512 DDR333 PNY ram (Dual-Channel), my computer starts for about 3-5 seconds, doesn't display anything on the screen, and shuts off automatically. This also happens if I use them both in Single-Channel mode, but ONLY on the 2nd boot and beyond, not on the first one.

I have the newest bios, stock motherboard drivers (The ones that come on the Asus CD), and my memory timings are:

5(Precharge)-2(RAS-to-CAS)-2(RAS Precharge)-2.5T(CAS Latency)
My memory timings are set as "optimal", and my memory frequency (MHz) is set as "Auto" (166/333). Any help?

System Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ (2.0Ghz~) Thoroughbred-B
Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 Motherboard
Chaintech Geforce 4 Ti4200 64MB
Maxtor DiamondMax 9 Plus 120GB 7200RPM ATA133 HD
Western Digital 30GB 5400RPM ATA100 HD
2x512 PC2700 PNY Technologies ram
300W Enlight Corp. Power Supply

Also, I tested if it was because I didn't have enough power by unhooking my cd-rom drives and 30GB hard-drive before booting, and it didn't make any difference.

If you have any other PCI slots, try swapping them around.
If that doesn't work, try manually settings the memory timings for say: 6-3-3-2..
If all else fails replace the ram. :dead:

Btw your system looks very similiar to mine. :O
