Is your HDD divided into partitions? When you said that you are using less than 50GB, does that means that you have one partition with, I do not know, 80GB and rest non partitioned, or you use less than 50GB and you have free rest of HDD?
Open Disk Management: Right-click on 'My Computer' icon and choose 'Manage'. Then, go to Disk Management and tell us is it visible all of your HDD space.

First, open Windows Explorer, right-click on your local drive [I assume it is C:] and choose 'Properties'... See what is the size of that partition.
When you finish this, follow instructions to open Disk Management...

To open Disk Management follow this:
1. Right-click on 'My Computer' icon and choose 'Manage' --- or Start then right-click on 'My Computer' and choose 'Manage'.
2. In the left pane of the window, expand Disk Management
3. In the right pane of the window, investigate how many free space do you have and see if you have some unallocated space.
4. If you have some unallocated space on your HDD, right-click on unallocated space and choose 'New Logical Drive'... Just follow the instructions...
